Fox News Asks The Hard Hitting Questions

The media is there to ask questions. That is its most important role. Other things, like the questions that are being asked or whether they are actually relevant to the issue at hand, are less important.

At Fox News, they have the good sense to focus on the first goal and leave the other two for other networks.  It’s much more efficient.

That’s why it was so comforting to see Fox News Anchor Jenna Lee use her hard-earned interview time with Democratic Rep. Chris Van Hollen to ask/confuse him with questions like “what is a democrat?” and “how is that different than a republican?”

When you spend so much time staying fair and balanced, you don’t want to get caught up in unnecessary things like relevance or sense.

Lee Boyd Malvo Breaks Journalistic Ground

DC Sniper Lee Boyd Malvo wanted to get his story out. Apparently his 2002 killing spree with John Allen Muhammad was supposed to include two more people, but they “ended up backing out.”

This is news. News was reported. Everything is normal. The earth is still spinning

William Shatner reported it.

Shit.

Meghan McCain Reaches the Pinnacle of Journalism

With Larry King about to step down from CNN, some may have worried that journalism had lost a source of senility that would be impossible to replace.  WELL HAVE NO FEAR, for senility heiress Meghan McCain is here to fill the void with a “pretty frickin’ awesome” interview with “Snooki” from MTV’s The Jersey Shore. Topics addressed include Snooki’s support of McCain’s “really cute” father, her admiration for the national treasures that are Kendra Wilkinson and Tori Spelling, and the MIND BLOWINGLY DEEP STATEMENT that “people go tanning because they like to feel tan.”

That sound you just heard was the ghost of Edward R. Murrow shooting itself in the face.
