I was very sad to say goodbye to one of my favorite DC gossip columnists, who is now becoming an NYC gossip columnist for the legendary Page 6 of the New York Post. Tara Palmeri celebrated her going-away at L2 in Georgetown and I was so happy to be a part of it, almost as happy I was to be on her good side while she was in DC. There was a great turnout for her party, lots of local media came to the event to celebrate rather than report on what was going on. So, allow me to fill you in: at one point, my friend Allison fell on the ground after her partner dipped her too quickly in a dance, and shattered a couple glasses. Tara also left the following morning bright and early to UHAUL her things to New York.
Tara is one of those great reporters that doesn’t hold back, and I can’t wait to hear about her adventures in NYC.
Looking Ahead: Save the date for “A Night At The Park,” Monday, August 9. The event will feature special performances by world renowned magician David Blaine and recording artists Amos Lee and Mutlu. Nationals Park will be transformed into an intimate concert hall for 1,000 people (a special stage is being built on the outside concourse of the Presidents’ Club with attendees sitting in the Diamond Club seats). This is the ziMS Foundation inaugural event in Washington, D.C. and will surely generate a lot of buzz and excitement. Proceeds from the event will help raise funds for a cure and awareness of Multiple Sclerosis. Buy tickets here: http://anightatthepark.eventbrite.com/

Morso, a Mediterranean restaurant on the corner of M and Wisconsin, opened last month…just in time for my 23rd birthday! The interior of Morso is modern for Georgetown, sort of keeping up with other trendy places in the area like Mate and L2.
The food was absolutely delicious. I had a Turkish Kofte lamb pizza as my entree, which was a boat-shaped pizza topped with lamb meatballs. What really sealed the deal for me were the cheese cigar appetizers: four flaky pastry fingers filled with cheese. Giorgio and Mustafa, the owners, gave my table of 8 some marshmallows sprinkled with sugar for dessert. I highly recommend Morso for birthday dinners, an elegant date, or a place for cocktails before a night out in Georgetown.

After dinner, my group moved up Wisconsin to Gin and Tonic for the Glover Park Block Party. Miley Cyrus tunes and Bud Light Limes with my girlfriends really made the evening “patriotic with some frattiness” as the invitation promised. At midnight, owner Fritz Brogan surprised me with champagne and a birthday brownie from Kitchen (his restaurant next door) complete with a burning candle on top.
